Daytime weddings carry a charm that’s hard to replicate, the gentle sunlight, the calm air, and the way everything looks more alive under the open sky. There’s no rush, no artificial lighting, just the purest form of celebration unfolding naturally, moment by moment.

Some weddings leave a mark not because they’re extravagant, but because they feel real.

Sanjana and Tim’s daytime wedding in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi at Akbar Road, was exactly that. A celebration that flowed with ease, authenticity, and emotion, ending under a sky that looked like it was painted just for them. This one felt less like an event and more like a big family hug.

Their story started in the most unexpected way, during COVID. A mutual friend gave Tim Sanjana’s number saying, “She’s pretty, she loves diving, you two might get along.” And well, they did. From that first chat, to beers, a BBQ, and a shared love for quiet, thoughtful moments, things just flowed. Fast forward to today, and they’re getting married at their residence at Akbar Road. It was an Australian-Indian love story, celebrated with families.

Sanjana’s side brought in all the beautiful Indian traditions, haldi, mehendi, sangeet. While Tim’s family joined in wholeheartedly. This was their first Indian wedding experience, and they dwelled in. From the turmeric on cheeks at Haldi to the high energy dances at the Sangeet, there were so many little moments that made everyone smile.

Her mom and maasi had been planning the wedding for months, going shopping from Kanchipuram to Banaras, making sure every outfit, every detail felt just right. They really poured their hearts into it.

Her maasi, especially, shared the most touching stories like how Sanjana wore only clothes stitched by her until she was six, or how sunflowers have a special place in the family as a tribute to Sanjana’s late cousin, Rohan. It was these details that made the whole wedding feel so content.

The sangeet night was one for the books. Her brother kicked things off with two quick shots of tequila and got everyone dancing, no announcements, no plan, just pure joy. Her sisters had choreographed performances with cousins over Zoom, dealing with time zones and laggy video calls and it all came together beautifully.

And we should not forget the shoe stealing plans. Tim was warned early on, but that didn’t stop Sanjana’s sisters from plotting. The energy they brought was totally unmatched.

Sanjana, with her Indian roots and grounded spirit, grew up surrounded by discipline, dignity, and a deep love for the country, values shaped by her father, who serves in the Indian Navy. That upbringing reflected in everything about her from grace to quiet strength. Tim, on the other hand, brought with him the calm, open-hearted warmth of Australia. Together, their story was less about where they came from, and more about how they made each other feel.

On her wedding day, Sanjana wore a pastel lehenga that looked like it belonged to the day itself, soft, light, and luminous. She kept her jewelry minimal, letting her presence do the talking. And truly, there was a glow about her, not just from the makeup or the outfit, but from within.

Tim stood by her side in an elegant sherwani, every bit the composed, present groom. No nerves, no rush, just a quiet, genuine smile as he watched the day unfold. But what made everyone pause was not how they looked.

It was how they looked at each other.
Like the rest of the world faded.
Like they were home.

What we loved the most was the way Sanjana and Tim carried the whole day, gently, naturally, with no pretence. Just two people choosing each other, surrounded by the people they love most.

They’re heading off to the Philippines now, starting a new chapter together. But this day in “Central Delhi”, surrounded by their people, was the perfect beginning.

There’s a reason we love shooting daytime wedding especially in a city like Lutyens’ Delhi, where every corner has a story. Day weddings allow for natural, unhurried storytelling. The light wraps around emotions differently. The energy is calmer, and the details feel more real.

Sanjana and Tim’s wedding was a beautiful ode to all of this simplicity, emotion, and an ease that only love can bring.
